Dashboard
The CommandLane dashboard provides a visual interface for managing your entries, viewing analytics, and configuring settings.
Opening the Dashboard
- Hotkey:
Ctrl+Shift+D(customizable in Settings) - System tray: Right-click → Open Dashboard
Pages Overview
Overview
Your productivity at a glance.
Metrics Cards
- Captures: Total entries captured
- Tasks: Task count with completion rate
- Notes: Note count
- Contextual Advice: AI-generated suggestions
Each card shows:
- Current count
- Trend indicator (↑ up, ↓ down, → stable)
- Percentage change from previous period
Time Range Selector Switch between:
- Last 7 days
- Last 30 days
- Last 90 days
Activity Chart Visual timeline of your capture activity:
- Line/bar/area chart options
- Daily capture counts
- Color-coded by entry type
Contribution Heatmap GitHub-style 365-day heatmap showing:
- Daily activity levels
- Streak tracking
- Most active days
Streaks
- Current streak: Consecutive days with captures
- Longest streak: Your personal record
Captures
Unified view of all entries (tasks, notes, decisions).
Search
- Real-time filtering (300ms debounce)
- Searches entry body text
Filters
- All: Every entry
- Recent: Last 7 days
- Archived: Completed and archived
Sorting
- By date (newest/oldest first)
- Alphabetically (A-Z/Z-A)
Entry Cards Each entry displays:
- Body text (truncated if long)
- Creation date
- Entry type badge (task/note/decision)
- Status badge (for tasks)
- Due date (if set)
- Tags (up to 3 shown)
- Source app icon
Status Management (Tasks) Click the status dropdown to change:
not_started→in_progress→done→archived
Changes save automatically with optimistic UI updates.
Infinite Scroll Entries load 50 at a time. Scroll to load more automatically.
Sessions
View and resume past agent conversations.
Session List
- Chronological list of all agent conversations
- Shows conversation title, date, provider, and model used
- Message count per session
Resume Conversations
- Click any session to continue the conversation
- Full message history is preserved
- Context is maintained across sessions
Background Tasks
Manage scheduled AI tasks via the Banner system.
Task List
- View all configured background tasks
- See task status, schedule, and last run time
- Enable/disable individual tasks
Approval Workflow
- Tasks requiring sensitive actions request your approval
- Approve, defer, or dismiss pending actions
- Session-level capability grants for trusted tasks

Common Actions
Finding a Specific Entry
- Open Dashboard (
Ctrl+Shift+D) - Go to Captures page
- Type in search box
- Use filters to narrow results
Changing Task Status
- Find the task on the Captures page
- Click status dropdown
- Select new status
- Changes save automatically
Connecting Notion
- Go to Integrations page
- Click "Connect" on Notion card
- Authorize in popup
- Select databases for tasks and notes
- Click Save
Changing Hotkeys
- Go to Settings page
- Find Keyboard Shortcuts section
- Click on hotkey field
- Press new key combination
- Save changes

- Open Overview page
- Select time range (7d/30d/90d)

Quick Status Updates
From the Captures page, you can rapidly update multiple task statuses without leaving the page.
Sync Monitoring
On the Integrations page, Notion shows:
- Last sync time
- Items synced
- Any conflicts detected
Search Behavior
Search is debounced (300ms delay) to avoid excessive queries while typing. Results update automatically.
Troubleshooting
Dashboard Won't Open
- Check hotkey isn't conflicting with another app
- Try different hotkey in Settings
- Right-click the system tray icon and select "Open Dashboard"
- If issues persist, restart CommandLane from the system tray
Entries Not Showing
- Check filter settings (might be on "Archived")
- Clear search box
- Refresh page
Sync Issues
- Check integration status on Integrations page
- Verify API keys are valid
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
- Check for error messages in sync history
